Controller
De Cisco Aironet 5508 is een professionele wlan-controller, welke geschikt is voor het aansturen van 25 accesspoints.

Schaalbaar
Deze controller is uitbreidbaar en dus prima schaalbaar. Via license based upgrades kan deze controller ook voor draadloze
netwerken met hogere aantallen dan 25 accesspoints worden ingezet tot maximaal 500 accesspoints.

Encryptie
De Aironet 5508 is te beveiligen vai de volgende encryptie-methoden:

• WEP and TKIP-MIC: RC4 40, 104 and 128 bits (both static and shared keys)
• AES: CBC, CCM, CCMP
• DES: DES-CBC, 3DES
• SSL and TLS: RC4 128-bit and RSA 1024- and 2048-bit
• DTLS: AES-CBC
• IPSec: DES-CBC, 3DES, AES-CBC
